The DNR made good it's word and
began the construction for the reopening of the Way Road shooting
Range
this morning. The work is expected to continue for the next
two weeks. The first day was mostly used taking readings with the transit
for elevations and some bulldozer work was done to move dirt for the makeup
of the back stops at the 100 yard range. We were told
that there will be two targets set at 100 yards, one at 50 yards and another
at 25 yards. There will be new shooting benches installed with a
roof covering and a set of steps leading down to the area where the benches
will be. We plan on taking a picture every day to show you
the progress and also provide any information that we can to keep you informed.
Remember, if you use this range, please help us to keep it cleaned
up or the next time you go to use it, it might not be there. Thanks
to everyone who contributed in this effort and to those at the DNR who
made it possible. MCRCG thanks you all.
